Managed IT services in Sanford, Florida

From First Street storefronts to the trade yards off US 17-92, Sanford's computers do real work in dusty, busy places. This is how we would look after them.

Where Sanford's computers sit

Sanford has been the Seminole County seat since the county was created in 1913, and for most of the last century it was known as the Celery City, after the crop that took over its farms once the freezes of the 1890s ruined the citrus. Historic Downtown Sanford is now restaurants, breweries, boutiques and small offices in old brick buildings, many of them a short walk from the Riverwalk on Lake Monroe. Head out along US 17-92 or SR 46 and it becomes contractors, auto repair, equipment dealers and light industrial units. Near Orlando Sanford International Airport there are aviation, logistics and service companies. And with the courthouse and county government in town, there are law, title and professional offices that do regular business with both.

What those places have in common is hardware that lives a hard life: a register PC by the door, a workbench laptop coated in grime, a back-office desktop that is also the owner's personal machine, and a router nobody has signed in to since the day it was installed.

First, an inventory

We look before we recommend anything. The free audit lists every device and account we can find, flags machines that are unencrypted or past the end of vendor support, records who holds admin rights, and ranks each risk by how likely it is to cost you a trading day. You keep that document whether or not we ever work together.

When the register PC dies at 4pm on a Tuesday

  • That is inside our on-site window. Tickets are taken at any hour, and on-site visits run 3pm to 8pm Eastern, Monday through Friday. If you cannot trade, it counts as a P1, and we aim to respond within two hours.
  • We try it remotely first. With the machine enrolled in device management, plenty of faults get fixed without anyone driving over.
  • If it needs hands, someone comes out. One of our locations is here in Sanford, so on-site work here is a normal part of the job.
  • The same fault on a Saturday. Weekend tickets are worked too, and a P1 outage still gets a best-effort response inside two hours. If it needs someone on site, a weekend visit is by arrangement.

Priced for devices, not desks

A shop with a handful of shared computers rarely suits per-user pricing, which is where Watch comes in: a flat $149 monthly for up to ten devices and $9 for each one past that. Watch is monitoring and patch reporting for a business that already has somebody doing the hands-on fixes. If you want us to be that somebody, the per-person plans, Support at $45, Manage at $79 and Operate at $129, are the better fit, and their minimums are on the pricing page. Whichever you choose, the beta price is locked for 24 months and you can cancel on 30 days' notice with no exit fee.

Not on offer yet

Three things are designed but unbuilt: backups, single sign-on for client systems, and reporting inside the client portal. Do not assume your data is being backed up, because it is not, and the agreement puts that responsibility with you in writing. What does run in production is the ticketing helpdesk, remote support with device management, monitoring with public status at status.sentinelgrid.us, and the client portal. Three founding places are open at the beta rate. The build status page tracks every item.

Sanford questions

Half our computers are old. Will you make us replace them?

No. The audit separates machines that are merely slow from ones that are a risk, such as a PC with no security updates left or a drive showing signs of failure. Replacing anything is your decision, made with that list in front of you.

Can you look after the computer our point-of-sale software runs on?

We can monitor and manage the Windows or Linux machine underneath it. The payment software itself belongs to its vendor, and if you handle card data, our PCI DSS responsibility addendum sets out which parts of the work fall to you and which to us.

Is Sanford covered on site?

Yes. One of our locations is here in Sanford.
