The information and services provided by SentinelGrid, operated by Mason Collier, a sole proprietor based in the State of Florida, are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. SentinelGrid makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability of any website, application, service or information for any purpose. Any reliance you place on them is at your own risk.

2. No Professional Advice

Nothing on this site, the blog, or in our services constitutes legal, financial, insurance, safety, security-certification or other professional advice. Blog posts describe what we did and what we learned; your environment is different. Consult a qualified professional before acting on anything here where the consequences matter.

3. Managed IT

Managed IT is in open beta and is delivered by a very small team. Outside a signed service agreement, no uptime, response time, recovery time or recovery point is guaranteed. Monitoring can miss outages; an alert path can fail; a patch can break something the vendor said it would not. We reduce these risks, we do not eliminate them. We publish what is built and what is merely planned so that you are never relying on a feature that does not exist.

Compliance is yours to own. Our regulated-data addenda (HIPAA Business Associate Agreement, PCI DSS v4.0.1 Responsibility Addendum, CJIS Security Addendum, FERPA Student Data Addendum) allocate responsibilities between us; they do not make you compliant, certify you, or substitute for your own risk assessment, policies and training. Nothing we publish is legal advice about which law applies to you.

4. Monitoring & Status Pages

Status pages reflect what our monitors observed, not a guaranteed state of a system. An HTTP check confirms a URL answered from our vantage point; it does not prove a service is working for your users. A heartbeat monitor can only tell you that pings stopped, not why. Status history is not an audit record and should not be relied on for contractual uptime claims unless a signed agreement says otherwise.

5. Remote Support & Device Management

Remote actions on a managed device (updates, configuration changes, scripts, reboots) carry inherent risk. We act carefully and with backups where possible, but cannot guarantee that a change will have no side effects. Clients are responsible for maintaining backups of data that matters, unless backups are expressly part of the signed service.

6. SentinelVision

SentinelVision is a detection aid built from open-source computer-vision models running on commodity hardware. It is not a certified security, alarm, or life-safety system, and it is not monitored by SentinelGrid. Detection is probabilistic: it will produce false positives (a drill flagged as a firearm, a shadow as a person) and false negatives (a weapon it does not see because of angle, distance, lighting, motion blur or occlusion). Alerts depend on your network, your notification service and your phone all working. Do not rely on it as your only safeguard, and do not make decisions that affect a person's safety or liberty on the basis of a detection alone.

You are solely responsible for the legality of recording on your premises (signage, consent, audio laws, workplace-monitoring rules) and for how you respond to an alert.

7. Accuracy of Information

We try to keep this site accurate, including the build-status statements about which features are live, in beta, or planned. Things change faster than pages do. Where a page and a signed agreement conflict, the agreement controls.

8. Service Availability

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site or services at any time, with or without notice, and will not be liable if anything is unavailable. Our own public status page at status.sentinelgrid.us shows what we know about current and past incidents.

9. External Links

Our site links to third-party sites and services. We do not control them, do not endorse them, and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

10. Software

Software we publish or deploy, including scripts served by the diagnostics drop box, agents installed on managed devices and SentinelVision, is provided without warranty. Test in your own environment before relying on it. Open-source components carry their own licences and disclaimers.

11. Analytics & Tracking

This website uses Google Analytics, and does not start it if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal. Our application services set only the session cookies they need. See the Privacy Policy for detail and opt-outs.

AI-assisted work. Much of our software, our websites, our blog and our documents are written with the help of AI development tools (currently Anthropic's Claude) and then reviewed, tested and deployed by a named person, who stays accountable for the result. Client data is not put into AI tools without the client's written agreement, AI does not answer support tickets, and we do not use AI to make decisions about individuals. The Privacy Policy has the full statement. Detection results from SentinelVision are machine output and carry the limits described in section 6.

12. Views & Opinions

Blog posts and commentary represent the views of their authors at the time of writing, not advice and not the position of any client, partner or vendor mentioned.

13. Independent Contractors

Work may be performed by independent contractors engaged by SentinelGrid. They are not employees, and SentinelGrid is not liable for their acts outside the scope of their engagement. Our contractor terms are in the Terms of Service.

14. Intellectual Property

All content on this site is owned by SentinelGrid or its licensors unless stated. "SentinelGrid" and "SentinelVision" are our marks. Third-party marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify their products.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SentinelGrid and Mason Collier are not liable for any loss or damage (direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise) arising from use of, or inability to use, the site or services, or from reliance on any information they contain. The full limitation is in the Terms of Service.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify SentinelGrid and Mason Collier against claims arising from your use of the services, including your deployment of SentinelVision or remote-access tooling in breach of any law.

17. Changes

We may revise this Disclaimer at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

18. Governing Law

This Disclaimer is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in Seminole County, Florida, under the dispute provisions of the Terms of Service.
