Our managed IT prices, published, and how we set them

Watch $149/mo, Manage $79/user, Operate $129/user. Why the beta rates are per user, why there are minimums, what's free, and the arithmetic behind the numbers.

managed-it pricing msp small-business beta

Until today the managed IT site said "quoted at audit." That was honest, because we hadn't priced it, but it's also what every MSP says, and it makes you sit through a sales call to learn a number. So here are the numbers, and the reasoning, so you can do the arithmetic yourself before we ever talk.

The beta rates

  • Watch. $149 a month, flat, for up to 10 devices. $9 a month for each device beyond that. For businesses that already have someone doing IT and need monitoring, patch reporting and documentation underneath them.
  • Support. (Added 30 September 2026.) $45 per user per month, $195 monthly minimum. Everything in Watch plus a helpdesk for the whole team, with tickets by email or the portal and remote help for everyday IT problems. Made for businesses that just need IT help without the full management of Manage. Servers are $99 a month each.
  • Manage. $79 per user per month, $395 monthly minimum. One server included. Patching, endpoint management, helpdesk for the whole team, onboarding and offboarding, and MFA. (Updated 13 September 2026: single sign-on is on the roadmap, not included yet.)
  • Operate. $129 per user per month, $995 monthly minimum. Up to three servers or hypervisors included, $99 a month for each extra. Adds server and firewall work, a priority response target, and two hours of on-site time a month. (Updated 13 September 2026: identity-provider operations and a documented recovery plan are on the roadmap, not included yet.)

The audit and the four-week onboarding are free during the beta. Project work (migrations, office moves, new systems) is $95 an hour, quoted before it starts. Licences and hardware are passed through at cost, with your approval first. Billing is monthly in advance, net 14, month to month, thirty days' notice, no exit fee.

Every one of those numbers is held for 24 months from your start date.

Why per user, not per device

Small businesses count people, not endpoints. "We're six people" is an answer everyone can give; "we have eleven devices, or maybe fourteen if you count the printer" is not. A user is a person with a work login, and their primary laptop or desktop comes with them. Servers are the exception, because a server is real work regardless of headcount, which is why Manage includes one and Operate includes three.

Watch is the odd one out and is priced per device on purpose. On Watch we're not supporting your people; we're watching your machines so someone else can. Counting the machines is the honest unit.

Why there are minimums

A five-person office on Manage is $395 a month. Below that the arithmetic stops working for either of us: onboarding a three-person business takes almost as long as onboarding a ten-person one, and the monthly work (patch cycles, access reviews, the quarterly review) doesn't shrink with headcount. For very small teams a one-off audit and cleanup is usually the better deal, and the audit will say so rather than push you into a plan.

The Operate minimum is higher because Operate is a different job. Servers and a firewall are the parts of IT that end businesses when they fail, and the minimum reflects the attention they get. Identity-provider work and a recovery plan will join them once they are built; both are on the roadmap today.

Why about 20% under list

The rate we'll publish when the beta ends is roughly $199 for Watch, $99 per user for Manage and $159 per user for Operate. The beta discount is not a coupon. It's the price of buying something with rows on the build status board that still say planned. Backups and single sign-on are designed, not built. You're paying for what's live today, and everything that ships during your 24 months arrives at no increase. That's the trade, and we'd rather state it as a percentage than hide it in a "special founding rate."

Worked examples

  • A six-person office with one server on Manage: 6 × $79 = $474 a month.
  • A twelve-person firm with two servers and a firewall on Operate: 12 × $129 = $1,548 a month, servers included.
  • A twenty-device shop that already has an IT person, on Watch: $149 + 10 × $9 = $239 a month.

If you're comparing against an in-house hire, the Operate example is what a business of that size would otherwise pay for a fraction of one salary, before benefits, before tooling, and before the single point of failure with a pulse.

What moves the number, and what doesn't

The audit confirms your seat and device counts. That's the only input. A new hire is added at the same held rate; a leaver comes off the bill the next month. Nothing is billed per incident, and nothing gets added as a line item you didn't approve. The full schedule is in the Managed IT Service Terms, so it's contractual, not marketing.

The three founding spots are still open. The plans and the free audit are on the managed IT site; the longer argument for why a small business needs this at all is in managed IT for small businesses.
